NASTY GAL HAUL: HONEST REVIEW
I'm sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly from my most recently Nasty Gal order. (Okay, there wasn't anything ugly, that's just how the saying goes.) If you have any further questions about sizing, comment below! Now, let's chat about what's working and what's going back to the store.
Cut Out Side Plunge Strappy Bodysuit
Having to return this made me so sad. It's such a pretty color, and I wanted to love it. But it did not love me. This bodysuit is definitely made for shorter people with longer torsos. (For reference, I am 5' 6) My issue with this piece was that it wasn't long enough for my body. The torso kept going past where my hips had started. Overall, the bodysuit wasn't long enough, but the torso was too long. It was pretty affordable, which was a plus, and returns were easy. Although, I did have to pay for the return shipping.
Floral Tie Front Crop Top
I will make this into one section even though these are two separate pieces (sold separately). Surprisingly, this two-piece set was the only thing I kept from my Nasty Gal Haul. The top is a tie top, which I love for many reasons. First, you can wear it with or without a bra (SCORE). Secondly, you can let the tied pieces hang down, or you can tuck them back into your shirt for a cleaner look. Lastly third, tie tops look great with high-waisted pants and skirts. The skirt I wanted to keep because I don't own a skirt quite like this one. It's interesting because it is tight but stretchy, and I thought the frill at the bottom was cute. The pattern was the only thing that made me question this piece. But I kept it because I'm trying to push myself outside of the box and wear more patterns.
Ruched Satin Shirt Mini Dress
You guys!! When I say I was obsessed with this dress, I was freakin' obsessed. It's giving serious sexy Velma from Scooby-Doo vibes, and I AM HERE FOR IT. Mainly, I loved that it was a versatile piece. You could style for sexy for a night out, or you could make it more conservative, button it up higher and wear it as a wedding or to a work event. I am kicking myself in the butt for getting a size eight instead of a six. (Again, for reference, I'm right on the border of a six and eight. My hips need an eight, but my waist needs a four to six. I definitely have a pear-shaped body type.) Nasty Gal still has this dress in different sizes, but sadly, the size six was sold out for the longest time. Therefore, I had to return this gorgeous dress (Booooo). Recently, they must have re-stocked some sizes because the six is back, baby! So may have to re-order this in a six. And, for those of you who aren't into wearing orange, this dress is available in white!
Linen High Waisted Elasticized Pocket Shorts
All I have to say about these shorts is do better, Nasty Gal. Not only are they pretty unflattering to begin with, but man, are they see-through. You can see everrrythiiing. I definitely would not recommend purchasing these. Unless you're going to use it as a beach cover-up or something. In reality, I do believe in the saying, you get what you pay for. This is one of those times where I didn't pay that much. These shorts are very cheap. So I can't say that I am shocked that these shorts are see-through. They have a grey pair that I'm linking above. I'll give Nasty Gal the benefit of the doubt that only the white pair is see-through.
